I believe your children and grandchildren can succeed, no matter what their skin color is.  Your vote for me will help Napa Valley Unified School district get Back to the Basics.  We will focus on teaching Math and English again.  Parents will know what is happening to their children at school.  We will repair and maintain buildings without borrowing more money. Your children will have an equal opportunity to succeed.   Your vote for me will make sure your children can focus on learning.  Other children who intentionally  disrupt the class will be suspended. The cafeterias will serve nutritious lunches to your children.
stop borrowing money It seems like in every election the school district is asking to borrow more and more money.  That is money which you, your children, and their children, will be paying off for decades.  It is already going to be expensive enough for your children to buy a home and pay for food and gas in Napa County.  Doesn’t Napa Valley Unified School District care about loading your children down with crushing debt to repair and maintain the schools? I will find a way for us to pay for repairs and maintenance without borrowing money every 2 years.
Is it fair that Napa Valley Unified School District is graduating over 92% of the students, when students are more than 25 points below standard in English, 73 points below standard in math, and fewer than half of the students are prepared for college or a career after high school?  These charts from the 2023 California School Dashboard tell the story of a school district that does NOT care about your children’s success in life. I will make sure your children have an equal opportunity to succeed in life, whether they choose college or learning a valuable trade.  Nothing else matters if we are not doing the basics well.
notify parents I’ve had parents tell me of a time their son skipped school for 2 weeks straight and they were NOT notified.  Is it fair that parents don’t know what is going on with their children at school?  Family is the most-important part of a child’s life and the parents are the people who care the most about their children’s safety, discipline, and well- being. I won’t let the teachers, adminstrators, or employees of the school district hide information from parents. You need to know if anything unusual is going on with your child at school  I will make sure you know what is happening with your children.
